Jenny Vrentas is reporting that newly acquired safety LaRon Landry was absent from Jets OTA workouts today, according to a source. The source is anonymous because the Jets haven’t released attendance for the workouts, which are voluntary.
Although voluntary, Landry said he would be in as much as possible.
Landry and the team never shared with the media his offseason training arrangements when he signed with the Jets in March, but Landry did say he would be at OTAs and mini-camp and participate “as much as possible.”
Landry is coming off a season ending injury last year, which the Jets were aware of, and they are relying on a partnership between LaRon and the training staff to get him ready for the season.
Not a big deal yet, since it is very very early, but this could be a situation that needs to be watched.

He remembers Mark Gastineau's late hit in the 1986 AFC Divisional Playoff game like it was yesterday. There have been many more failures than successes, but through it all, Alan has remained true to the Gang Green. He has been blogging for the Jets on various websites for the past 5-6 years. He lives and breathes the NY Jets all year round, and is committed to bringing the Jets passion to "The Jet Press" on a daily basis.
