Steve Weatherford did some damage control on Friday. For anyone who didn’t see it, the Jets former punter had a lot to say about the development of Mark Sanchez.
Steve took to Twitter to offer some clarification:
I think @Mark_Sanchez knows the truth. I would never “RIP” a former teammate.Marks a great competitor and close friend This is outta control
If it got out of control Steve, that is because of the comments that you made. The comments were negative, and you have been around NY long enough to know that a big deal would be made ouf of them.
I think the moral of the story is that the opinion of a punter that USED to be on the team just isn’t relevant. Pipe down Steve, keep it to yourself next time.
Alan has been a passionate Jets fan since 1985. Obviously, that means he is a glutton for punishment, as he has suffered through many Jets disappointments. He remembers Mark Gastineau's late hit in the 1986 AFC Divisional Playoff game like it was yesterday. There have been many more failures than successes, but through it all, Alan has remained true to the Gang Green. He has been blogging for the Jets on various websites for the past 5-6 years. He lives and breathes the NY Jets all year round, and is committed to bringing the Jets passion to "The Jet Press" on a daily basis.
