Should the Bears Shop Matt Forte to the Jets?

Matt Forte to the Jets? A blogger from thinks it would be a good idea. Take a look at this post, and I will comment on the other side:

I will never disparage another blogger, as they are all entitled to an opinion. This one, with all due respect to the author, does not seem realistic. Agreed, Matt Forte would be an asset to the New York Jets. But anyone who watches the Jets full time as we do, knows that our offensive line is not a strength any longer, as it was from 2009-2010.

If we were to trade one of the pieces that the blogger mentions, such as Nick Mangold, the Jets line would be in shambles. Forte wouldn’t put numbers up that he is anywhere near used to.

Sorry, Erik Lambert, don’t see that one happening.

    Hi Alan,
This is Erik Lambert.  First of all I’m flattered you took time to read my article.  As you may have noticed by my profile picture, I am a huge Bears fan.  I personally don’t want to trade Forte but given all the whispers I heard, I decided to explore teams that might have interest.  While cap concerns prevent any trade from happening, I felt adding Matt with Shonn Greene could become a potent combination.  Don’t forget Forte has been running behind the “worst” offensive line in football for the last three years and in my opinion could’ve been in MVP conversations if he hadn’t got hurt.  I know for a fact the Jets would never trade Mangold.  I was hoping for Ferguson, the left tackle.  He’s still young and has Pro Bowl talent.  The Bears get their left tackle and the Jets get another playmaker to decrease the stink around Mark Sanchez (wink).  Thanks again for writing about my article.  Stop in again.  I love talking football.

      Hey Erik,
No trouble at all. I love reading anything at all that has to do with football. I hope you didn’t take it to personally my opinion of what you wrote. I figured you were a Bears fan.

No way the Jets send you Ferguson either. The Jets had a lot of trouble on the O-Line last year. They can’t afford to lose any depth. I love Forte, would love him on the Jets. But they dont have the resources.

You clearly love football, no doubt. If ever the fansided football site for the Bears needs writers, you should definitely weigh in, your opinions would be loved by fansided.
