A lot of fans are upset that the Jets chose Coples of South Carolina’s Melvin Ingram. First, Coples actually graded higher at the Combine than Ingram, Coples at 92, Ingram at 90.5. He’s bigger than Ingram, 6’6″ 284 for Coples, 6’1″ 264 for Ingram, which will make Coples tougher for tackles to handle due to his size.

Coples has drawn some comparisons to the great Julius Peppers, and coach Ryan compared him to Shaun Ellis and Trevor Pryce, all pretty successful NFL players.

Melvin Ingram did have 19 sacks over the last two years, granted, but Quinton Coples was no slouch, with 17.5 over the last two years.
