In the first round, the Jets sit right in the middle of the draft at #16. Mike Tannenbaum spoke today to reporters, and talked about how they could potentially move in either direction with that pick.
“We’ll have 16 names we’re comfortable with,” general manager Mike Tannenbaum said at a pre-draft press conference today. “Could we slide up or back? We’re certainly going to be open to all scenarios. We’re happy at 16, that’s the cards we’ve been dealt, and we’ll maximize those opportunities.”
Due to the rookie wage scale, the top teams may not be as desperate to leave those positions, but Tannenbaum believes that deals are there to be had. They have traded up before, acquring Darrelle Revis, Dustin Keller, and Mark Sanchez when doing so.
