At the start of the second half, the 2009 Jets drove down the field to put the 2010 team away. A 56 yard run by Shonn Greene set the team up deep in 2010 Jets territory. A Thomas Jones 7 yard TD put the Jets of 2009 up 17-3. With under 5 minutes remaining in the 3rd quarter, with the 2010 Jets backed up at their own 4, Mark Sanchez threw a pass that was intercepted by Dwight Lowery, who took it back to the house to make the score 24-3 in favor of the 2009 Jets. Following a blocked punt, Thomas Jones scored again, this time from 2 yards out to take a commanding 31-3 lead.

A late TD by 2010 made it a bit closer, but the final score was a 31-13 thrashing by the 2009 Jets. The player of the game was 2009 Jets running back Thomas Jones with his 2 rushing TDs. Shonn Greene added 101 yards rushing for the 2009 Jets.

The 2009 Jets will move on to face the Super Bowl Champion 1968 Jets in round 2. Next week, the second game of the opening round will pit the 1969 Jets vs. the 1982 Jets. See you then.
