Plaxico Burress wants to play for the Eagles

Plaxico Burress after leaving prison in June 2011

Remember when New York Jets receiver Plaxico Burress emerged from prison last year wearing a Philadelphia Phillies hat?

Well, it turns out Plax was in fact trying to send a message.

Howard Eskin of NBC 10 in Philadelphia reports that he ran into Burress, 34, at the Super Bowl, and that Burress informed him that he badly wants to play for Michael Vick and the Eagles this season.

While still under contract with the Jets, Burress will become a free agent on March 13.
