It’s Week 15 and the 8-5 New York Jets will travel to Philadelphia to face an Eagles team that has suddenly gotten some life.
More importantly, the Jets will attempt to do something they have never done before; beat the Eagles. The Jets are 0-8 against the Eagles, the only team in the NFL they haven’t defeated.
With a 5-8 record, the Eagles can be a bit deceiving as they have blown 4 fourth-quarter leads and are 2-5 in games decided by seven or fewer points.
Let’s meet the Dream Team:
Returning after missing 3 games with broken ribs, Michael Vick has had a very rough season. 2400 passing yards, 544 rushing yards, 12 Tds, 12 Ints, 8 Fumbles. A QB rating of over 100 in only 2 games this season, Vick would call this a lost year. We agree.
RUNNING BACK: LeSean McCoy is the league’s second leading rusher with 1,172 yards. With 13 runs of over 20 yards, and with 14 TDs, McCoy can change the game in a second. A major test for the Jets defense, the team will have to watch McCoy on every play.
WIDE RECEIVER: The Eagles are tied for the most drops in the NFL.
Must be frustrating when you have such talent like DeSean Jackson (47 catches, 757 yards), Jeremy Maclin (47, 625) and Jason Avant (46, 602). If in a good mood, Jackson can be a very dangerous receiver and punt returner.
TIGHT END: Another big Tight End for Eric Smith to defend this week in Brent Celek. With 49 catches for 517 yards, it’s obvious that Vick likes to spread the wealth. Look for Celek to get in on the action.
DEFENSE: Last week against the Miami Dolphins, the Eagles defense had 9 sacks, a safety, an interception, and 2 fumble recoveries. Talk about putting the hurt on a team. Jason Babin is tied for second in the NFL with 15 sacks. Second year Safety Kurt Coleman leads the team with 4 INTs.
