Is Tom Moore replacing Jets coach Schottenheimer?

We’ve said it before, and it seems to be more clear each day;  Former Colts offensive coordinator Tom Moore will eventually be replacing New York Jets offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer.

Wednesday’s Press Conference with head coach Rex Ryan was just more proof.

Ryan announced that Moore, who initially had been consulting with the Jets from his home in South Carolina, will spend the rest of the year in person with the team.  If you watched closely, you noticed Moore last Sunday in Washington with headsets on in the coaches booth upstairs.   He was also around the team before their win against the San Diego Chargers.   For the record, that’s two appearances, and two nice efforts from the Jets offense.

Whether Schotty picks up a head coaching job this offseason or not, it is more than clear that head coach Rex Ryan has a ton of faith in Moore.   If Schotty leaves this offseason, by choice or not, look for Moore to step in and replace him.
