Source: Rex Ryan to Be Fined at least $75K for Fan Profanity Last Week

Rex Ryan’s antics are about to cost him again.

According to nfl.com’s Adam Schefter, the league will fine Jets head coach Rex Ryan between $75,000 and $100,000 for using profanity to a fan at halftime of last Sunday night’s game against the New England Patriots.  The fan said “Hey Rex, Belichick is better than you.”, to which coach Ryan responded “Shut the f— up”.  Schefter is reporting that commissioner Roger Goodell is planning to review the facts of the incident one more time before rendering his verdict.

No surprise, neither is the fact that Bill Belichick telling the Jets to “s— my d—”, has rendered no consequences to him.  Maybe if Rex wore a hooded sweatshirt he would get away with being inappropriate.

Just one writer’s opinion.  I have talked about the double standard before.
