BREAKING NEWS: Joe Paterno has lung cancer


ESPN is reporting that former Penn State coach Joe Paterno has a treatable form of lung cancer, according to his son.

Scott Paterno, in a statement provided to The Associated Press, says that the 84-year-old Joe Paterno is undergoing treatment and that “his doctors are optimistic he will make a full recovery.”

    My father was diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer in February of 2009. March of 2009, less than a month later, he died. He smoked two packs a day, started smoking at 12 years old.

    I see stupid kids desiring to smoke, trying to buy cigarettes underage, and think how stupid these kids are. By smoking they show they don’t care for people close to them. Cancer doesn’t just affect the individual, it affects everyone close them.~ELLISA
