You can imagine the excitement Aaron Maybin is feeling right now.
After two nonexistent years in Buffalo, Maybin can’t wait for this Sunday’s game against his former team.
“It’s been circled on my calendar for a while,” Maybin said of facing the Bills.
With a team-high three sacks for the New York Jets, Maybin is showing the potential that Buffalo saw when they made him a first round draft pick in 2009. After all, in four games with New York, Maybin’s 3 sacks and 3 forced fumbles are 3 more in each category than he had in 27 games over two seasons with the Bills.
So, what happened in Buffalo?
Maybin thinks the fact that the Bills put him on the field for 5 snaps a game had something to do with it.
“Honestly, I don’t think anybody’s gonna really say that averaging five snaps a game is getting a legitimate shot,” Maybin said. “For whatever reason, there was fault on both ends. There was something obviously I didn’t do while I was there to give the coaching staff that confidence in me to go out and have more than five snaps a game. Since I’ve gotten here, it’s been a little bit different.”
