The more and more you think about it, the more it makes sense.
In spite of an 0-6 record, and after blowing a 15-0 lead with 5:23 left in the game to Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos, the Miami Dolphins won’t fire head coach Tony Sparano.
And it makes total sense.
Aramano Salguero of the Miami Herald reports that Dolphins owner Stephen Ross will not fire Sparano at this time, despite the team mailing it in every week.
Can you say Andrew Luck?
The Dolphins fans have not only given up on this season already, but a large chunk of fans have taken over a corner of the stadium, re-named it the “Suck for Luck” wing, and are rooting against the team. The Stanford QB, projected to be the next John Elway, would certainly provide the Dolphins with their first real QB since Dan Marino. (Just don’t tell them that Luck is a Junior and, faced with the prospect of becoming a Dolphin, could decide to stay for his senior year).
That’s how bad it has become in South Florida. With 10 weeks left in the season, fans are rooting against their team.
With Ross seen talking to former Florida Gators coach Urban Meyer on the sidelines this week, rumors are flying that Meyer will be the next coach. Time will tell. Just not now.
