Missing two years of football, it has to be expected.
New York Jets WR Plaxico Burress does not look the same. Sluggish off the line and dropping passes, Burress is slowly disappearing from the game plan.
With just 1 catch for 16 yards last night in the Jets 24-6 victory over the Miami Dolphins, Burress now has 14 catches for 218 yards and 2 TDs in 5 games this season.
A noticed reduction in playing time may also be getting to the 34 year old.
“It’s different for me, it’s a different role, ’cause I’ve always been a guy that’s been on the field all the time,” Burress said. “And I just take it as I’m just not in a certain package or whatever it may be. Maybe I don’t fit the scheme of whatever they’re trying to do at that particular point.”
On the positive, Burress has shown himself to be a tremendous blocker, already setting up numerous Jets touchdowns for his teammates.
