New York Jets induct 4 into Ring of Honor

Halftime today at MetLife Stadium saw the New York Jets induct four former members into their Jets’ Ring of Honor.

Larry Grantham, Freeman McNeil, Gerry Philbin and Al Toon.
• Grantham played linebacker and called the defensive signals on the Jets’ Super Bowl III team and was the team MVP in 1971.

• McNeil was a three-time Pro Bowl player and the team MVP in ’82 and ’84.  Before Curtis Martin, there was Freeman McNeil.

• Philbin was an all-time All-AFL first team and member of the Super Bowl III team.

• Toon was a three time team MVP who caught at least one pass in 101 straight games.

The Jets’ Ring of Honor now includes 10. The others:

Weeb Ewbank
Winston Hill
Joe Klecko
Curtis Martin
Don Maynard
Joe Namath
