New York Jets safety Jim Leonhard, appearing on NBC SportsTalk last night may have given away the Jets gameplan for New England Patriots WR Wes Welker.
When asked by Peter King how the Jets would deal with Welker, Leonard said that the plan is to put him on Revis Island with Darrelle Revis “as much as possible.”
“You have to try to take away what a team does best,” Leonhard said.
With 40 catches in the first 4 games, the Pats offense goes through Welker. But positioned in the slot, and not on the outside, can Revis change up his defense and move inside to guard Welker?
