Vontae Davis says Dolphins have best CBs in NFL

At least he has confidence.  That has to account for something, right?

Miami Dolphins Cornerback Vontae Davis, when asked what team had the best cornerbacks in the NFL, chose an interesting pair.

Himself and teammate Sean Smith.

Not the New York Jets team of Darrelle Revis and Antonio Cromartie;

Not the Philadelphia Eagles pair of Nnamdi Asomugha and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie (or Asante Samuel for that matter).

“I’m going to go out on a limb and say we’re the best tandem in the league,” Davis said.

“You name them all and I’m putting it out there,” Davis said.

Of course, Dolphins coach Tony Sparano didn’t disagree.  But he didn’t really agree either.

“I like to hear it,” Sparano said. “I think they need to play with swagger. They need to play with confidence and those two guys have confidence. Time will tell at the end of this thing whether or not they are …but I’d take them.”
