Anthony Becht joins the Chiefs

Former New York Jets TE Anthony Becht has signed a one year deal with the Kansas City Chiefs

Becht, the 2000 first round pick of the Jets, last played in 2009 for the Arizona Cardinals where he caught 7 passes for 61 yards.

Since playing for gang green from 2000 to 2005, the former West Virginian has played for the Buccaneers and Rams, along with Cardinals.

The 2000 NFL Draft features 4 first round picks for the Jets, the most by any team in the history of the Draft. (Shaun Ellis was the 12th pick, John Abraham was 13, Chad Pennington at 18 and Becht at 27).

First round notables from that draft class were:

Thomas Jones at 7, Plaxico Burress at 8, Brian Urlacher at 9, and Shaun Alexander at 19.

Dante Hall was chosen at 153 in the fifth round and Mark Bulger in the 6th round.

Oh, Tom Brady was taken in the 6th round as well at the 199th pick.
