Rex Ryan Not Thrilled By Offensive Line Play, Loss

It may be the preseason, but that doesn’t stop coach Rex Ryan from having a lot to say about his team’s preseason opening loss against Houston.

He was especially not happy with his offensive line play, as they did give up 7 sacks.

“Clearly we’ve got a long way to go with our protections,” said Ryan. “We’ve got to figure this thing out, because it’s ridiculous.”

The Jets had a chance to win the game in the final moments, but undrafted free agent acquistion Michael Campbell dropped a 32 yard pass in the end zone from Greg McElroy, after which coach Ryan was seen on the broadcast expressing his displeasure.

“No excuses,” said Ryan.

Ryan was especially upset in the second quarter, when he had to burn a timeout on defense when the Jets had too many men on the field.  He was seen stomping around the sideline angrily, and threw down his headset after making the timeout call.

Rex is in midseason form.
