Jets give Revis’ Uncle a job with team

Let’s get the conspiracy rumors started.

Remember Sean Gilbert, New York Jets fans?

You know, the Uncle of CB Darrelle Revis who was instrumental in the negotiations with the Jets during the Revis holdout last season.

Well it seems that Gilbert has a new job now.  He’s working for the Jets.

A coach on Rex Ryan’s staff, Gilbert says it was the negotiations last year that got him the job.

“Rex got to know me [during the negotiations] and understood that it wasn’t anything personal,” Gilbert told Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News. “It’s just business. Now, I’m on the other side.”

Gilbert, 41, was the third overall pick in the 1992 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Rams.  He played 11 seasons in the NFL for the Rams, Washington Redskins, Carolina Panthers and Oakland Raiders.
