Patriots Pay Big Money for New York Jets Vet Ellis

It looks like recruiting former Jets is worth big bucks to Bill Belichick.

Many reports are coming up on twitter this morning that the Patriots one year deal with Shaun Ellis is worth $4 million, plus $1 million in incentives.  The Jets, in comparision, offered around the league veteran minimum of $900 thousand for his services.

Understandable why Shaun Ellis decided to part ways with Gang Green.

If taking one of the Jets veterans is worth that much to New England, more power to them.  I personally can’t blame Mike Tannenbaum for not wanting to pay an aging 11 year veteran $4 million.

Shaun Ellis will be missed, but his departure is understood at that price.
