New York Giants lower demand for Osi Umenyiora

The New York Jets lost out on Nnamdi Asomugha. They should not lose out on Osi Umenyiora.

The New York Giants, all along demanding a first round draft pick in a trade for the disgruntled defensive end, have now reportedly lowered their demand to a second round pick.

The report comes from Mike Preston of the Baltimore Sun, who says that the Baltimore Ravens and New England Patriots are two of the teams considering making the deal.

Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News has reported that the Rams, Chargers, Seahawks and Broncos are also interested.

This begs the question:  Where are the Jets?

Already saving $6 million this season from signing LB David Harris yesterday, the Jets have the money and the pick to trade for Umenyiora.  Always in need of a pass rusher, the Jets should get in on this, fast.
