Miami Dolphins fail with Orton; get less with Moore

Apparently the Miami Dolphins couldn’t wait around any longer for the Denver Broncos to agree to a trade for Kyle Orton.  So they did what any normal team would do: they acquired Carolina Panthers QB Matt Moore.

Wait, what?

The Matt Moore who completed 55.2 percent of his passes for 857 yards last season;

The Matt Moore who threw five touchdown passes and 10 interceptions last season;

The Matt Moore who lost his job to rookie Jimmy Clausen?

In signing Moore to a contract worth $5 million, including incentives that could push the deal as high as $7.5 million, the Dolphins are not necessarily telling QB Chad Henne that it has lost faith in him.  We are not exactly sure what the Dolphins are telling Henne by signing Moore.

What seemed like a certainly in acquiring Orton has turned into a land of confusion for South Florida.

Good luck with that….
