Uh-Oh, is this a sign of things to come for Braylon Edwards?
The New York Jets WR missed his scheduled court appearance this morning due to a delayed flight out of Los Angeles, according to Edwards’ attorney Peter J. Frankel.
“It was his intention to be here this morning,” Frankel said.
While Edwards was in California with Mark Sanchez last weekend, he sent a tweet on Saturday which said, “Goodbye Cali I’m heading back home to Michigan.”
The WR is set for a July 22 trial in connection with a DWI in Manhattan last year.
To muddle up the matter further, if Edwards is found guilty of the DWI, he could be forced to return to Ohio to face allegations that he violated parole from an incident in Cleveland in which Edwards pleaded no contest to misdemeanor aggravated disorderly conduct.
Edwards is a free agent who has expressed a desire to return to the Jets. Pending the outcome of his legal troubles, the Jets may be leaning away and focusing on other WRs, including Randy Moss, to replace him.
