Jets fined $100k for tripping incident

The New York Jets have been fined by the NFL $100,000 for the trip heard round the world involving strength and conditioning coach Sal Alosi, who instructed players to stand in a wall formation to block opposing team’s players during special teams plays.

“This is both a competitive violation as well as a dangerous tactic,” read the NFL statement to announce the fine.

Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum said Alosi wasn’t fully truthful initially, and when the Jets found out that he had instructed players to stand that way on the sideline, they suspended him indefinitely.

“We will comply with the league’s decision,” said a Jets spokesperson.
