Broncos fire Josh McDaniels

The Denver Broncos have fired Head Coach Josh McDaniels, who won his first six games as Broncos coach but only five more in the season-plus that followed.

McDaniels, 34, made famous for trading away Peyton Hillis, Jay Cutler and Brandon Marshall in separate deals, and also recently involved in failing to report a subordinate who violated league rules by videotaping a San Francisco 49ers practice in London on Oct. 30., was the youngest in the league at the time of his hiring.

The team, in perhaps a tribute to its young coach, announced the move on its twitter feed.  McDaniels leaves with a record of 11-17, including a 3-9 record this season.
