Revis shuts down Owens

Not lost in yesterdays New York Jets victory over the Cincinnati Bengals was the continued dominance of Jets CB Darrelle Revis over WRs.  Yesterday it was Terrell Owens.

Entering the game with 897 yards, Owens finished with three catches, 17 yards.

“The stats show, that’s all I got to say,” Revis said via ESPNNewYork.com. “He called me average, and I showed him how an average corner plays. . . .  You can’t hide away from the stats, you can’t change the stats, you can’t add a zero after the 17.”

Good sign for the Jets, here.  Revis looks completely healed from his hamstring injury earlier in the year and is shutting down opposing teams #1 WRs on a weekly basis.    Up next is New England.  No word on whether Revis will line up against Branch or Welker.
