While the loss of New York Jets WR Jerricho Cotchery (groin) for Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans doesn’t come as a major surprise for anyone, it is Dwight Lowery absence that should.
Lowery will sit out with a concussion.
The backup defensive back was injured in the Jets’ 26-20 overtime win last Sunday at Cleveland, and coach Rex Ryan said Thursday that he has “a little ways to go there.”
Already missing Marquice Cole, not expected to play, the Jets are down a couple in the secondary against a good passing offense in the Texans. With Andre Johnson (52 catches), Kevin Walker (28 catches) and Jacoby Jones (25 catches, not to mention Arian Foster with 33 catches this season, the Jets will have their hands full.
