Revis stops Lions’ Johnson

Darrelle Revis is back, folks.

Back to being healthy; back to blanketing top WRs; and back to closing 1/2 of the field on defense.

In the Jets’ 23-20 overtime victory over Detroit yesterday, the Jets CB dominated Lions star receiver Calvin Johnson, holding him to only one catch for 13 yards a week after Johnson caught three touchdown passes against the Redskins.

“This was the first time all year following the best receiver everywhere he goes,” Revis said. “It was a great matchup. He brought the best out of me today. I felt good today; I did what I needed to do.

After an early test on the first play from scrimmage where Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford threw deep to Johnson, which Revis broke-up with a diving play, it was back to 2009, where QBs literally didn’t look Revis’ way.
With such an asset in the secondary, Revis’ health will be a major factor for the second half of the season.
