New York Jets LB David Harris missed practice Wednesday with a lower-back injury. According to coach Rex Ryan, “something happened” to Harris’ back while lifting weights, so they decided to keep him out of practice. Ryan seemed optimistic that Harris, who leads the defense in tackles (45) and is the co-leader in QB hits (eight), will be able to play Sunday against the Detroit Lions.
If not, they’re in trouble because inside linebacker is the thinnest area on the team. The backups are Lance Laury and Josh Mauga.
