Pacman Jones out for season

Adam ‘Pacman’ Jones’ comeback has been shot down due to injury.

The Cincinnati Bengals placed Jones on the injured reserve list on Tuesday due to a herniated disk in his neck.  He suffered the injury late in Sunday’s loss to the Atlanta Falcons.  He was examined by a specialist on Monday who indicated that surgery would be needed.

Jones made a big play during the loss to Atlanta, stripping receiver Roddy White after a catch and returning the ball 54 yards for a touchdown to give the Bengals a 25-24 lead.

A Tennessee Titans’ first round draft choice in 2005, Jones saw his stock plummet after a long list of arrests and other run-ins with the law.

After being suspended for the entire 2007 season, he got another chance with Dallas the following year, which ended when he got into a drunken brawl with his own bodyguard in a strip club bathroom late in the 2008 season.

Jones was out of football entirely in 2009.  The Bengals agreed to give Jones a shot this season. He played well in the preseason and earned a spot on the roster as the #3 cornerback and was also used on kick returns.
