With the outstanding play of Antonio Cromartie this season, the Jets are looking into rotating Darrelle Revis and Cromartie on opposing No. 1 receivers for the remainder of the season.
“I anticipate that,” Cromartie told the Daily News. “We feel we have the best cornerback tandem in the league. Both of us are basically No. 1 corners.”
Coach Rex Ryan furthered that point by stating that the team “can be flexible now” and “do whatever we want” with their pair of elite cornerbacks.
“We’re like a tag team,” Revis said. “It doesn’t matter who gets the job that week. I still have to do my job if I’m not on the No. 1 guy. If he’s not, he still has to do his job.
“This is what we wanted,” he added. “That’s why we got Cromartie…to have two good corners that can play both sides and shut people down.”
