Jets game in jeopardy for Cablevision viewers

Bad news for Jets fans with Cablevision.

With no apparent settlement as of yet, this Sunday’s Jets vs. Packers game, to be seen on Fox, will be unavailable for Cablevision subscribers.

The Federal Communications Commission demanded in letters to both companies Friday—a week after the two broadcast stations were taken off Cablevison amid a multi-million-dollar fee dispute—that both sides make the case that they have met legal requirements to negotiate in good faith while proving that the other side has not.

Cablevision and News Corp. met the Monday deadline to prove that they have been working toward a deal that will end the blackout on Fox 5 and My9, but if cable-subscribing Football fans will get to watch the Jets game on Sunday remains unclear.

Obviously this also affects the World Series, set to begin Wednesday on Fox.
