Jets trade for Cromartie and his kids

AUTHOR: Marc A. Greenberg | IN: Jets | COMMENTS: 3 Comments |

Wouldn’t you love to be a fly on the wall in Jets camp today?

Do you think anyone is talking about Thomas Jones?

Sorry. Nope.

The Jets have acquired Chargers CB Antonio Cromartie for a 2011 Third Round Draft pick which could escalate to a 2nd rounder based on performance.

The 2007 Pro Bowler, while on the outs in San Diego due to various issues (bad tackling, underachiever, 7 kids with 6 different women in 5 different states, etc), comes to New York ready to roll.

Can you say top CBs in the NFL?

Make no mistake, Cromartie makes this defense better… much better. (anyone remember Peyton Manning destroying our secondary?)

1. Revis and Cromartie as your CBs. Not too shabby.  Good luck throwing on the Jets this year.

2. Cromartie is 25.

3. The Jets, already with a top defense, now can win games on their own. (See: Trent Dilfer and the Ravens).

4. With one year remaining on his contract, look for Cromartie to be playing at a high level this year… and for a new contract.

Good start to free agency.  Now, if the Jets can pick up a pass rusher, we may have something to really look forward to this year.

    This guy is impressive

  2. Matt56 says:

We also need a WR like Golden Tate and yes the pass rusher would be great, If we could somehow get Brandon Marshal WR then we could just work on the pass rusher!
