The Dirty Sanchez gets the nod!

The kid is going to have to learn quick… Rex is throwing the kid into the fire and this is a high risk move, but let’s hope it works out. Mark Sanchez is obviously a smart kid with a lot of potential and he is surrounded by a group that should allow him to manage the game.
As long as Brian Schottenheimer can give him limited reads and allow the running game and defense to rule the field, there is a chance this thing could work.
If there’s one thing that we’ve seen in the preseason, it’s a level of excitement when [...]

Jets still recovering from Favre debacle…

AUTHOR: Brad Cotter | IN: Jets | COMMENTS: None Yet

It really doesn’t matter who wins this QB battle off the bat, because one this is for sure. There will be a learning curve. Whether Kellen Clemens takes his lumps against the brutal beginning to the shedule, or Mark Sanchez learns on the job for any length of time, the Jets have put themselves behind the 8 ball with a team full of talent.

Sanchez looked like a kid out there, and it was contagious! The team looked to have some extra pep in their step once Mark was on the field. If nothing else, they each looked like they needed to take some more responsibility to help the kid out.
Sanchez didn’t need much help though. He looked to have total command of the crew and made all the right decisions. With that said, it’s one preseason [...]

QB battle begins tonight!!!

AUTHOR: Brad Cotter | IN: Jets | COMMENTS: None Yet

There have been conflicting reports on who is the man in NY. Personally, I don’t see any reason to start Mark Sanchez to begin the year. The Jets schedule is brutal early and if the Jets ever want to see what Kellen Clemens is worth, it will come in the beginning of this season. Regardless, the O-line won’t get much playing time tonight, so both guys better be quick with their decisions. I’m still worried about depth at the position which is why I favored the Vick signing, but I understand why they didn’t go there. Rex has his hands [...]
