Good point... Everyone has already put Sanchez in Canton and he hasn't even faced a decent college defense in his career... Please, NO ONE say Penn St. or Ohio State count as elite college defenses... Penn St. is the better of the two and had no secondary... let's not go there...

Sanchez will certainly struggle early... I hope Jet fans are aware of that. The schedule is brutal this year... Have Patience!!!

I'm not sure the Browns got fleeced. See how Sanchez does first before assessing that. Besides, who knows the Jets better than Mangini? The Jets ownership is desperate to try to anything at this point so I wouldn't put it past them to move more good players to the Browns.

Good Points by everyone... It's tough to call... There's no way I would give up a 1st & 3rd for Edwards regardless of Thomas Jones. Edwards, while very talented, has yet to show us that he's an elite receiver on a consistent basis.

As far as the Browns are concerned, here's the reason they should drop their asking price.

The Bengals were offered 2 1st round picks for Chad Johnson and now would be lucky to get a 3rd... The Browns were offered a great deal for Derek Anderson and now won't get it. The timing to get rid of guys that are not in your future plans is NOW. With the additions of WR's this offseason, Braylon Edwards is obviously not in their future plans.

Giving up Thomas Jones and top flight picks is CRAZY. JetOrange said it right... the WR spot needed is just to extend the field, not to be a focal point... if the Browns aren't willing to deal, then the Jets need to look elsewhere.

Why would the browns drop the price for the 30-year old running back, we already have one.

Jones is going down hill in his career. Edwards is climbing up in his. A straight up trade is asinine. Jets, give up a 1st and a 3rd for Edwards if you really want him... Oh, and to make up for the draft day steal, through in Jones.

Edwards is a diva, and IMHO a huge risk. If Rex is running the ball 35 times a game you need three RB's, and lets not put Greene in Canton yet. But if you were going to do the deal, the Jets send Thomas Jones and their 1st round 2010 pick to the Browns for Edwards and the Browns 2010 3rd round pick. Remember, our second goes to the Eagles for Lito. In this scenario we sit out the first day of the draft, have two 3rd's , 4,5,6, and two 7 round picks,( Favre deal Green Bay)

Mangini has such a hunger for Jet players, let us feed him with Thomas Jones as the main course and Brad Smith is the dessert.Maybe this will fill his Gut. Lets get this deal done!

Jones was the afc's leading rusher, and the guy barely fumbles. This Greene kid looks decent, but it's a risk going into the season with a rookie qb and rb. There's bound to be interceptions. Do we want to add fumbles as well? If Cleveland can live with Jones and a 3rd round pick, it might be worth it. But I think Jones, a 1st, and a 3rd is way too much for a guy that has a habit of dropping the ball.

Agree with Boris. The Browns have no reason to lower their asking price. They can keep Braylon and franchise him next year if need be.
