Apparently Woody Johnson has realized that this team should be built through the defense. If Ryan brings the run first, protect the defense attitude to the Jets, then this could be a match made in heaven. Ryan has loads of experience and has the most polished resume of all the other coordinator candidates.

The New York Media should love this guy. He’s confident, talented and is well respected by his players. The Jets are close and because Ryan runs a 3-4, the Jets have most of the personel they need to make this a seamless transition.

The quarterback situation is still in flux for Gang Green, but the prospect of Ryans run first attitude should allow a new QB to develop over next season. There is still loads of moves to come this offseason.

Speaking of moves, Kris Jenkins former teammate Julius Peppers has said he would like to try his hand in a 3-4 scheme. I’m not sure the Jets are the right fit, but I surely wouldn’t turn down the opportunity to find out. More to come…
