Ryan emerges as favorite…

All reports point to Rex Ryan as the favorite to land the job in New York. The good news with this hiring would be the ability of Ryan to keep the defense in a 3-4 scheme and build this team as a run first outfit. This is what has been going on in Baltimore and what should’ve been going on in the Meadowlands for both squads. While I think the Jets should go hard core after Shannahan, Ryan is tops of the coordinator candidates. Ryan is a no nonsense guy who should have no problem developing a first year starter next season as Favre is virtually gone. He comes from a great football family who believes the game should be played from the inside out, and I couldn’t agree more!

The Post reported that Brian Schottenheimer will remain the offensive coordinator if Ryan is awarded the job.

There is an obvious buzz among Jets nation that this team is close. There is a great mix of guys on this team and they just need a leader to bring them all together. If that’s what Ryan brings to NY, then I’m all for it! This should be an exciting offseason… Let the games begin!
