By the way, have you ever been as pumped up for a preseason game as the one this weekend with the Skins!!! It's gonna end up being the highest watched preseason game ever... until the preseason game with the G-Men, of course!!! All Stub hub tix for the games jumped from like 130 a game to something like 250 or so... I THNK STUBHUB SHOULD SUBSIDIZE THE PSL'S INSTEAD OF THE SEASON TICKET HOLDERS!!! They're making a killing!!!

Well, I hear your point... We'll have to agree to disagree on this one... I would think Barry Sanders might be the only player ever to put together a decent season with that line last year. I agree that Leon should definitely get way more touches this year, but I'm not sure he can pound like Jones... I heard someone predict both of them would eclipse 1000 yards this year and would be the highest tandem from scrimmage in the league. I can't remember who it was, but I'd like to think they were right. I definitely think Washington was the most undervalued, underused player on the team last year... he's the most explosive guy in camp, they need to find a way to get him involved regardless! Anyway, I'd definitely be interested in getting Barry out of retirement too!!! :)

Hey Brad, how's it going dude?

Well I felt compelled to respond to one thing we may disagree on: Thomas Jones. I thought the deal we swung for him was a good move at the time since we essentially gave up nothing for him. What I did not like was giving him a multi-year contract. He's good but he's not what we needed. We had an awful running game and he should have just served as a stopgap. He's not a great football player. His contract meant that he was viewed as an elite player and elite players raise the level of play around them even if it is subpar. He didn't not perform admirably despite of the poor line from '07, he played evern worse. We needed him to step up and take some of the pressure off and he did nothing. I know he ran behind a lousy line but not every running back rips off 1500 yards behind a hall of fame line. Barry Sanders didn't. Thomas Jones is the MOST replaceable player on our team and I'd honestly rather give Leon Washington 15-20 carries a game because he can always hit a home run. Jones cannot.

What's up Jay,

You hit the nail on the head with the Jenkins comment!!! He could very well be the biggest offseason addition to this team, including Favre. Stopping the Run has been a huge problem and that crazy hybrid everyone stand at the line defense they had to employ was a joke, though very creative.

I'm very suprised though that you dogged out Thomas Jones like that. Do you really think it was him that laid the egg last year or was it a spectacular year to put together 1000+ yards behind that putrid line. I saw you mention Faneca and Woody, and with the loss of Kendall last year I'm surprised you felt that way about Jones. Adrian Peterson ran behind the best line in Football, with Mac Truck sized holes. That dude never even saw an opposing lineman all year, just secondary before anyone had a chance. I don't think he would've faired much better behind the '07 line. Most of the people I've talked to have given everyone on offense a pass because how can you do anything when you get absolutely no push. I agree, Jones is a lunch pail guy, but he's a winner and was the best offensive player Chicago had during their Superbowl run. The dude runs hard and is waaaayyyy more talented than Chatman. Either way, I agree Richardson should be a huge addition. But seriously, Jones had no part in that debacle last year. Dude ran strong all year, but had no holes. The running attack as a whole should be much better this year.

Love the comment on the WR's... Chansi should work as a perfect slot this year, and maybe Clowney will add some depth, though I'm not sure he's gonna get separation against 1st teamers, but you're right, with those 3 and Keller who can work in the slot as well, Favre should be able to have at least close to the speed he had last year. As long as he plays like last year, and not the previous 5... I'm with ya!!! We're headed to Tampa!!! or at least the playoffs...:)
