Here we go. The confirmation we’ve all been waiting for. This just out on ESPN and I’m predicting Brett Favre will be a New York Jet before the summer is over. If he comes here he will make the Jets an instant Super Bowl contender and no matter how many lousy NY Sports beat writers say it ain’t happening the team will not dismiss this without exploring. The Packers would love to deal Favre out of the NFC and the Jets are the PERFECT fit.

Prediction: Brett Will Be A Jet
Gholston A Go
The New York Jets are all ready to go. The draft picks are signed and this is the squad we’re going to whittle down into the surprise team of 2008. Unless the Jets bring in Brett Favre! Hey I want the guy here but apparently Paul Needell doesn’t and he doesn’t offer a compelling arguement against Favre, just more of the same “media circus” mumbo jumbo.
The real story in Jetville is Vernon Gholston signing his deal and getting on the practive field today. No holdout! (I’m not counting the first day of camp as holding out). The deal sounds like [...]
Jets Smokescreen on Favre
Are they or aren’t they? Will they or won’t they? Are the Jets talking about Brett Favre in secret inner circle meetings and will they pull the trigger on the boldest move in franchise history on the eve of the season opening? All of a sudden the Jets are popping up more and more in rumors regarding Brett Favre and it is always accompanied by the front office speak of “Not interested” or “No chance” but why is the media (not Jets fans) still talking about the Jets and Favre? Yes, everyone loves speculation like this and the all media [...]
The better question may be will anyone even notice he’s out? New York Jets alleged tight end Chris Baker apparently hurt his back and the Jets were forced to put him on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list. Speculation arose that it was to punish Baker for a being a schnook and having severe delusions of granduer. Maybe so but I have to agree with Bob Bullock of the Jetsream blog over on Newark Star Ledger when he says this sounds like Pete Kendall Episode II: Attack of the Moans. With the uber prospect Dustin Keller now in the fold [...]
Two great things that go great together. The start of training camp for the New York Jets coinciding with long time Jets hater and former NFL Defensive Player of the Year Jason Taylor getting sent packing from the AFC East. JT was a royal pain in the rear but even his presence didn’t prevent the Jets from owning the Fish of late, but it’s nice to see him gone. If you forget what JT looks like just pick up a copy of the ESPN Classic Miracle at the Meadowlands Jets-Dolphins game on Monday Night Football. Taylor is the noodnik giving [...]
Keller Signs, One More To Go
“There was never really any doubt in my mind that we were going to get everything done on time,” Keller said. “I’m just happy that everything’s done and to officially be a New York Jet — just happy that all that stuff’s done now and we can actually get down to the real football business and get the pads on.”
“I feel pretty confident with the offense right now. I’ve been doing a lot of studying and getting everything down,” Keller said. “As far as expectations for the season, I haven’t really set any true expectations for myself. For right now, [...]
I Want Fav-Re
All the talk of rebuilding and youth movement for the New York Jets is mularkey. This team spent a ton of money to get back on the competive side of teh street. Win now? Let’s not get carried away. Could they if the QB plays well or better than expected? Hell, yeah. Look, Chad is a great soldier and is the QB of the past. Kellen could be the guy of the future but what about right now? Who should the quarterback of the present be for the Jets? Brett Favre. Why not? What is holding this up? A second round [...]
Let Jets Get Brett
As training camp looms on the horizon and the battle for the New York Jets starting quarterback job stands as the top prize here is one interesting twist: What if Brett Favre were a free agent? I am a fan of both both let’s face it, Chad Pennington versus Kellen Clemens ain’t exactly Ali-Frazier. If Brett Favre is available he should finish his career where he came thisclose to starting it…as a New York Jet. I make that move in a heartbeat because that has to make this team incredibly dangerous overnight at the cost of just a free agent [...]
